Get to know us

History

In 1984, we began our journey in the kitchen, creating signs for local businesses while at the same time taking care of our three young children. We would bounce the baby on one arm while producing tickets for the nearby pub. Our creativity and passion for design can be traced back even further to 1970 when our band, Balcony, performed at various venues in Adelaide. During the day, we worked in the display departments of well-known department stores like Myers and David Jones. Additionally, we gained valuable experience in the entertainment industry by working full-time in the administrative department of the Adelaide Festival Centre complex, rubbing shoulders with the entrepreneurs behind the Adelaide Festival of Arts. Almost four decades ago, we transformed our kitchen sign-making expertise into a thriving business at Design Works Studio in Somerton Park, South Australia.

Today, we continue to utilize our creative background to produce film, music, and art, while also providing graphic design, signage, shop fittings, and layout services to our loyal clients.

People and culture

Our people are the most valuable resource to us. We place our emphasis on intuitive qualities and support the idea that 'doing what you love' will ultimately produce outcomes that benefit each of us as well as the wider community.

We are strong believers in giving everyone involved in our organization a voice and take care to acknowledge their achievements.
