The Whittler
When Jack meets the Whittler he finds him whittling away at pieces of wood, using the parts to make his ladder taller.
When Jack asks the Whittler why he is making the ladder taller when he doesn’t intend to climb it, the Whittler replies ‘All’s I know how to do’.
This is like a lot of people when they mindlessly work toward a desired goal but in the end are not able to make the shift to realize their aspirations, fearful of what it might involve. read more
The Candlestick Maker
For many years the Candlestick Maker has been laboriously working under the evil and heartless authority of The DreamCrusher. Day after day, with little or no reward, captive in the stultifying darkness of a cavernous labyrinth, the Candlestick Maker sets his hands to producing candles for the unappreciative lord and ruler of Surdus, Ignatius The DreamCrusher.
The Bluebird of happiness
The humble Bluebird of Happiness, whom we hope is just over the horizon of our experience, rarely makes a visit unless invited.
With true devotion and an unshakable belief in the existence of happiness, the Bluebird of Happiness can be summoned into our world to bring salvation to our misery and an inextinguishable glow to all our hopes and dreams.
Rimsit
A dynamic symbol of nature's gift of memory, Rimsit warns Jack with the words 'Remember Who You Are'.
Bestowing on Jack the gift of memory, Rimsit asks Jack to drink of the fire in order to receive it.
Kshama
With forbearance as her standard, Kshama implores Jack to gather his courage. Then entreating him to hold on to the sharp blade of her scythe, Kshama assures Jack it will pull him to safety.
Freed from his predicament Jack is told by Kshama that he has to reach and cross the Bridge of Neither Here Nor There.
Athirdia
Athirdia shows Jack how intuition, the power of knowing, is now at his disposal.
With her help, Jack recalls a joyous memory that makes him fit to enter the Junction of The Light, the doorway to Atlantis.
The Guardian
No-one comes to the great city except through the Guardian of Atlantis.
Standing within the orbit of the great city, Jack is told by the Guardian that he is at the cusp of the absolute East, the source from which the Great Electricity flows.
Devoro
Always in need of someone to do his dirty work, The DreamCrusher has employed the services of Devoro.
Delighted at his capture of Jack's sister Skye, Devoro brings the little female mortling to the DreamCrusher.
Mrs Aloe
Just when things seem as bad they can be, out the blue we find the soothing salve of loving help from a secret source that we soon come to recognise as having always been there for us.
Mrs Aloe is the inner voice speaking from within, telling us that all is well.
